Tubi Superbowl Prank Too Much For Viewers (Video)

Did you see the Tubi Super Bowl commercial? Were you like me and wondered if you were sitting on the remote? Well played, Tubi. Well played. You pranked us all! Check out the video below!

Tubi is a streaming service that offers thousands of movies and TV shows for free. It’s one of many such services in a crowded market, so getting noticed can be a challenge. However, with its Super Bowl ad, Tubi managed to capture the attention of millions and make a lasting impression.

Tubi’s streaming service has been gaining popularity in recent years, and its Super Bowl commercial is an excellent example of how they are using its marketing efforts to stand out from the competition. The commercial, dubbed “Interface Interruption,” looked like the game was back from a commercial break, with Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olsen of Fox Sports providing commentary. Suddenly, you see the Tubi app appear, and it looks as if someone is searching through its library. You could see Miss Congeniality and Mr. and Mrs. Smith pop up on the screen. I thought I sat on my remote or someone was messing with me. It was a 15-second spot and boy, did it catch my attention.   Check out the video below.

What made this ad so effective was its clever use of interruption. While most ads during the Super Bowl try to grab your attention with flashy visuals and celebrity cameos, Tubi’s ad did the opposite: it interrupted the thing viewers are most invested in—the Super Bowl itself. Doing so created a moment of surprise and intrigue that made viewers pay attention to what was happening on the screen. Of course, not everyone loved the ad. Look at these fans in the video below wondering what the heck is going on.

Overall, Tubi’s Super Bowl ad was a bold move that paid off. Whether or not it will translate into more subscribers remains to be seen, but for now, Tubi has definitely put itself on the map.
