The 34-year-old artist, who gave birth to her first child in May 2022, shocked social media as she stepped onto the stage and caressed her tummy in front of a global audience of millions during her Diamond performance. This was Rihanna’s first time she has performed live on TV since 2018, starting off with Bitch Better Have My Money as she floated 60ft on a platform above the field.

Rihanna did not disappoint with her fashion when she took the stage wearing an extra baggy all-red look with two different overcoats, Alaïa puffer coat over a red Loewe jumpsuit and bustier. Also rocking a pair of Maison Margiela x Salomon sneakers. The ever fashionable singer finished off her look with her flight suit decorated with vintage diamond brooches by Joseph Saidian & Sons, she also sported a trio of pieces by Messika jewelry on her ears—the Magnetic Love mono earring, Équilibristes single earring, and the High Voltage Equalizer earring. The watch on her wrist was the Jacob & Co. Northern Lights, which came with red sapphire crystals and a matching strap. Her outfit commands attention without question.

Rihanna then joined 80 dancers in baggy white marshmallow jumpsuits keeping her dance moves to a minimum, instead belting out a medley of some of her most popular hits, including Wild Thoughts, Pour It Up, and my favorite We Found Love. The star even made some bold song choices, including Kanye West’s All Of The Lights, and she also performed a piece of Jay-Z’s Run This Town, which also had Kanye in its original version. Rihanna wrapped up her performance with the mashup of Umbrella and Diamonds with crazy fireworks surrounding the stadium as the finale.

Throughout her performance, her boyfriend A$AP Rocky (Rakim Mayers) demonstrated his backing by taking to the turf in a tribute coat displaying Rihanna’s inked hand ascending from a cityscape while grasping a football and wore a Fenty cap to back Rihanna’s brands. After the performance, a spokesperson for Rihanna confirmed the pregnancy news, noting that it had been seven years since she had taken the stage to perform live on television. The nine-time Grammy Award Caribbean Queen champion had turned down offers to perform on various occasions before finally gracing the stage this year, where she surprised her viewers with news of her second pregnancy with her partner ASAP Rocky on Sunday. Although Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have kept their growing family on the D.L, the couple have given us a glimpse of the anticipation that is to come. With more than 200 million people tuning in to watch the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs, Rihanna’s pregnancy revelation was the highlight of the night.

Even though the singer did a spectacular Super Bowl halftime show, she will not be paid for her performance as it is customary for performers to perform for free due to the fact they are playing to the biggest audience of their career, which will significantly impact their sales. Previous performers during the halftime show have seen their album and single sales skyrocket by 1,000 percent. 2022 saw some of the greatest artists of all time, such as Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem and 50 Cent, come together to give a stunning performance, and it appears Rihanna is set to join them.
