Haley and Hanna Cavinder, identical twins, are using their social media to make millions through NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) partnerships. The sisters are point guards for the University of Miami Hurricanes after transferring from Fresno State in 2022. Who are these blonde beauties? Read more about them below!

According to On3, their popularity has Hanna and Haley ranked No. 3 and 4 respectively among women college athletes with the highest NIL valuation. They have a combined $1.5 million in estimated worth. The two are famous for posting about nutrition, fitness, and their family on their multiple social media platforms. The blonde beauties have four million followers on their shared TikTok account, nearly a million followers between their individual Instagram profiles, their own YouTube channel, and a podcast, Twin Talk. The beauties have inked partnerships with brands such as Victoria’s Secret, Boost Mobile, Venmo, WWE, and Champs Sports. Cha-ching!

The twins grew up in Arizona and played basketball for Gilbert High School. The two started college at Fresno State and remained there until they announced they would enter the transfer portal in March of 2022. On April 13, 2022, the twins, along with their parents, had dinner with John Ruiz, an attorney and well-known University of Miami booster. Ruiz posted a pic on Twitter of the group, as shown below. The twins officially transferred to Miami on April 21, 2022. The encounter between Ruiz and the Cavinder family breached several NCAA regulations pertaining to recruitment.

The NCAA Investigation

An investigation by the NCAA began in May. Sports Illustrated acquired a copy of the NCAA report, which noted the Cavinder/Ruiz meet-up constituted “prohibited contact,” and the dinner specially prepared for the Cavinders was categorized as a recruitment “enticement.” As a result, the NCAA handed down sanctions against the University of Miami women’s basketball program for violating recruitment rules. Head coach Katie Meier was cited for violating “head-coach responsibility” for arranging the meeting between the Cavinders and Ruiz. Meier served a three-game suspension at the beginning of the season. The Hurricanes program will have to pay a fine of $5,000 in addition to a separate penalty amounting to 1% of the program’s budget. Additionally, they will serve a year of probation with reductions in recruiting and official visits. The Cavinder twins were not sanctioned.
